I am a bit dissapointed that most of these don't really seem good for outdoors or for long distance night recording (I know some of these said up to 20 to 30 feet but in my experience that means they are really only clear at 10-15 feet). Logitech finally provided Mac OSX support for Alert cameras with its app Alert Commander for Macintosh users. I have been looking into security cameras for the home, especially ones that are outdoor or pointed outdoor (some noobcakes have been hitting cars and driving off in my apartment complex).

Being able to have my active cameras pop up on my computer screen while I am doing something else, and having them record directly to my computers hard drive puts your product head and shoulders above ANY system currently available. Plugging and unplugging from the power source and "papercliping the camera can be a chore I don't look forward to.Īs you can see by my 5 stars, I love my Alert system. My cameras are mounted anywhere from 10 to 30 feet up in order to get the viewing angles I need. I'm 77 years old and not as good at climbing ladders as I used to be.
On a few occasions due to power failures or other issues, I have considered going to a wired system. I have 4 Alert cameras and have been using them ever since I switched from Wilife years ago. I was getting tired of seeing that "wheel" go around and nothing else.
